Visiting the Zulus

8 days / 7 nights

tour price on request

Africa welcomes you, dear friends!

After border formalities you will be met by a representative of the company Alpha-Zulu, transferred to your hotel and have free time for rest. You can visit the Queen Victoria and Prince Alfred Waterfront, which is a tourist Mecca. There you will find a variety of cafes and restaurants, expensive shops and souvenir stalls, folk singers and dancers acting directly on the street, seals resting on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean that caresses the eyes with its blue waves...

After a delicious and hearty breakfast you will meet your guide for excursions in and around Cape Town. Table Mountain, the symbol of the city, will be the starting point of your excursion. You will go up to the mountain in the cable car (payment is made on the spot, for whether it operates depends on the weather) and from the top you will have a bird’s eye view of this unforgettable city. After that you will visit the Cape Town Castle of Good Hope, which was the first stone structure on the peninsula, and from there you will see the Grand Parade, dominated by the Town Hall building. Continuing the journey, you will visit the Company’s Gardens built at the time of Jan van Riebeeck, founder of Cape Town. You can buy peanuts to feed the squirrels, who will eat from your hand. Next to the Gardens you will see St. George’s church, famous for having the largest stained-glass windows in the Southern hemisphere. Nearby are also the Houses of Parliament and the National Gallery of art. A tour of a jewelry factory will help you understand the process of cutting of precious stones and you can touch diamonds of various sizes and learn useful information about jewelry. If you like, you can purchase jewelry at factory prices direct from the manufacturer.

Today you will relive the days of the discoverers and of the colonial conquests and you will spend the day on Cape of Good Hope, which you have heard about in school. In 1488 Portuguese navigator Bartolomeu Dias landed on the Cape and called it the Cape of Storms, because he had survived a terrible storm that nearly cost him and his crew their lives. Portuguese King João II, having great expectations for a new Eastern sea route, renamed it the Cape of Good Hope. Here tourists often look forward to seeing large families of baboons. These animals are very cute, but be careful not to feed them, for you might get hurt when they fight for their food. After passing the entrance gate your bus will follow a level road and then drive down to the famous promontory. Here you can make a souvenir photo against a panel that has the coordinates of the Cape of Good Hope. Then you can climb to the highest point of the Cape Peninsula, where you will enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the ocean and the bay. We now say goodbye to the Cape and we are on our way back. The road runs along the coast of False Bay and goes through the small town of Simon’s Town, near which the largest South African naval base and Boulders Beach are situated. On that beach you will meet the famous Cape penguins. Long ago, these wonderful animals chose this beach for hatching their offspring and now they live there year-round, delighting local and foreign tourists. You will stop for lunch (at your own expense) at a restaurant well known for its seafood recipes. Return to the hotel around 17h00-18h00

This is the end of your visit to this beautiful city, a city among the top ten most-visited cities in the world. The company says a cordial goodbye and a comfortable car takes you to the airport for your next journey and new adventures. You now have a two-hour flight to Durban, which is located directly on the shore of the Indian Ocean and is the second largest city in South Africa. Upon arrival at Durban airport you will be met by a guide from Alpha-Zulu Africa. From this moment begins an unforgettable journey to the Kingdom of Zululand. Your way is through sugar cane fields and picturesque villages and fabulously beautiful landscapes. The end point of this journey is to the Zulu village. Locals welcome you. Here you will get acquainted with the traditions and history of this unique culture. The clan chief treats you to home-made beers and you watch traditional dances accompanied by African drums. Be sure to try to dance along with the Zulus and feel the fiery rhythms of their dances. After an emotional African Zulu show you, enjoy your lunch where, along with European food, you will have the opportunity to taste the dishes of Zulu cuisine. After dinner, rest in comfortable bungalows.

Don’t be alarmed: a local singer will perform a morning wake-up song to the accompaniment of a guitar. A leisurely African breakfast follows, then a farewell walk through the village. A comfortable car again takes you to meet new impressions, now on the famous Lake St Lucia, where you will have a cruise on a boat across this unique ecological system. This water is inhabited by crocodiles, hippos and sharks. This ecological system is under thee protection of UNESCO. Where else you can see yellow crocs? Only in St Lucia; the fact of the matter is that crocodiles can live in both fresh and salt water, thanks to a special gland. In this lake the water is salty, so the crocodiles are covered in a yellowish color. After this cruise, we move to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi National Park, the oldest national park in Africa. It is here that the white rhino was saved from extinction as a species. Your accommodation will be at the lodge and you will have a dinner whose diversity and abundance will not leave you indifferent.

You will rise early and depart for an unforgettable safari in Africa's oldest national park and the second oldest Peace Park, Hluhluwe-Umfolozi. It consists of open spaces and African bush, thick shrubs and acacias, and is inhabited by almost all representatives of the African fauna. You will depart search of the African Big Five (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard). Do not forget to get your cameras ready! A well-trained professional huntsman will help you find the animals and come as close as possible to them. At the end of the safari you will return to the lodge, where you will find a delicious and hearty breakfast. You now have to say goodbye to the wildlife park where you hear only the voices of birds and animals. Your guide awaits you in a comfortable car and you will go back to the coast of the warm Indian Ocean, to sunny and hospitable Durban. Your hotel is located right on the beach. Durban has become extremely popular among tourists from all over the world. Ballito and Umhlanga are famous resorts on the East Coast. Whenever you go there, at any time of year here, you will find warm weather and green subtropical landscapes, and you will want to return again and again.

In Durban you will make a 4-hour city tour with a guide. You will have the opportunity to feel the unique atmosphere of this wonderful southern city, visit the ninth largest port in the world, take a ride a ride on a rickshaw along the "Golden Mile", compare the old and new architecture of the city, as well as to visit the Indian Market, where locals buy potions prescribed to them by the famous Zulu sorcerers, the ”sangomas". In addition, this market is known for its low prices on jewelry and souvenirs. Remember, at the Indian Market you must to haggle about prices! Relax at the beach. On this day we recommend you book a farewell dinner at the exclusive restaurant of the famous Durban Oceanarium, where you can enjoy a wonderful meal of seafood while the sharks on the other side of the glass look into your plate.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the veranda of the hotel, with a nice breeze from the ocean. Take a farewell walk along the shore, enjoy the gentle sunlight and now you are ready to go home. As usual you will meet with your guide, who has become almost a family by now, and you will be driven to the airport in a comfortable car. The guide will bring you to the departure gate and say goodbye.
